HAVE you heard of Slenderman? Well, if not, he belongs to the online culture of Creepypastas, which tell of creepy tales that may or may not be based on true stories (they’re most likely not). However, this practicular story has become one of the most well known, telling a tale of a featureless face and wearing a black suit. He is commonly featured stalking, abducting or traumatizing people, particularly children.
The film is directed by Sylvain White and written by David Birke, and stars Joey King, Julia Goldani Telles, Jaz Sinclair, and Annalise Basso, with Javier Botet doing the honour of playing the titular monster. It will be released on May 18, 2018, by Screen Gems.
Reactions to the trailer have been so-so. This isn’t the first time Creepypastas have made it to the screen (albeit, the small one), with Channel Zero basing each of its seasons on a separate story.
