Ash Williams may be able to fight off countless Deadites, but there’s one thing he may not get the better of, and that is cancellation. Yes, that’s right. While the faith of Ash vs Evil Dead is still pretty much in the balance, rumours of cancellation circulated before season 3 even premiered, so it’s not looking good.
While fan and critic reactions are still up there with previous seasons, ratings have taken a decline, and in this business, that’s all that really matters. During a Q&A at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin, Bruce Campbell spoke that if the show was to be cancelled, this may be the last we see of the wise cracking Ash, as he is ready to hang up his chainsaw for good, meaning the prospect of a film is very unlikely.
The Horror Club is a fan of the show, and is currently waiting until the end of the season to put up our review. With that being said, the end may be near. If it is to be cancelled, it could be picked up by another network. I hear there’s a little place called Netflix that might fit the bill.
