When a film/short film says it’s based on a true story, or took inspiration from something from real life, it adds that extra element to the story.
When growing up there were countless games and chants that supposedly summoned a demon or ghost. Ghost Paper: The Other Side is exactly that; it takes inspiration from the game, The Ghost Paper Ritual, which, if done correctly, summons a ghost through the form of a conversation on a piece of paper.
This sums up what the film is about really, as it follows a little girl who decides to try the game out. The film is written and directed by Kyle Godfrey and stars Kiki Zorzi, and features some lovely, unsettlingly music.
