It’s the end of the year, and The Horror Club has decided to share the top three books the site has given the highest review ratings to throughout the year.
1) Hope and Walker by Andrew Cull:
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our thoughts: Exhilarating prose shrouded within a mysterious story, topped off with an interesting character, Cull has taken the traditional ghost story formula and made it his own.
2) Ocassional Beasts by John Claude Smith:
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
Our thoughts: Occasional Beasts is a relentless collection with wonderful proses and horrifying images sprinkled throughout. John Claude Smith is in such command of his craft, with each of the fourteen stories proving this.
3) Aphotic Realm: Classified, ed. by A. A. Medina & Dustin Schyler Yoak:
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our thoughts: Overall, Classified is another impressive issue to add to the Aphotic Realm ranks. Go explore, but be careful. Once you read the cases, you’ll never forget them.
The Horror Club is grateful for all the authors that sent in their work to be reviewed. We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for horror!
